The ongoing circus that is Hunter Biden’s legal battle continues to entertain and bewilder, as his team of high-powered lawyers appears to be maneuvering like a deer caught in headlights. The latest attempt to evade justice has gone the way of many Democrat schemes—right down the drain. After calling for a judge to dismiss several tax evasion charges, Hunter’s legal team has been sent packing, as a California judge decided that the allegations will indeed move forward, much to the disdain of Biden’s lawyers.
To add a layer of comedy more befitting a sitcom than a courtroom, Hunter’s attorneys attempted to play the old switcheroo, claiming that Special Counsel David Weiss’s appointment was unconstitutional—an argument pilfered directly from the Trump playbook. The irony is rich; while Trump’s lawyers found success with a similar line of reasoning, Biden’s squad failed to convince the judge that the cases share any real semblance. The judge wasn’t having it, scolding the lawyers for trying to play legal hopscotch with a weak argument.

As for the legal technicalities, it turns out that Weiss didn’t even factor into Hunter’s case as they had suggested. Judge Mark Scarsi’s rebuke of Hunter’s legal team was both sharp and clear, shutting down their bid to dismiss the charges based on poorly applied legal principles. This lackluster defense just shows that when it comes to legal finesse, Hunter’s lawyers might be better off sticking to personal injury cases or perhaps tending to a pet shop.

Meanwhile, social media is buzzing with skepticism over whether justice will ever catch up with the beleaguered First Son. Some users suspect that the Biden family may have a secret stash of pardon slips, ready to be signed just in case Hunter finds himself in a pinch. If the trend continues, it wouldn’t be surprising if Joe Biden’s exit from the Oval Office includes one last act of benevolence toward his trouble-prone offspring. The trial is set to begin on September 9, so cameras will surely be rolling as the jury decides if Hunter Biden is finally held accountable or if he’ll slip through the cracks, leaving Americans shaking their heads at yet another instance of political favoritism.
