Among the colorful characters was a Haitian man sporting 17 criminal convictions who loudly declared that he “was never going back to Haiti.” As he was being escorted into an ICE vehicle, he chose to deliver a not-so-eloquent shout-out to his newfound support for President Biden, while expressing gratitude towards President Obama. Clearly, this man didn’t seem to have much time for personal accountability or remorse, instead opting for public defiance as a marching anthem for illegal immigrants who believe they’re above the law.
This raid wasn’t just a one-off incident; it exemplifies a broader trend in which some of the country’s most dangerous individuals are allowed to roam free in major urban centers, thanks to the so-called sanctuary city policies that local officials seem to adore. A Brazilian man with an Interpol Red Notice for armed robbery and an Salvadoran illegal alien who had been charged with rape in his local community also found themselves in ICE’s crosshairs. Thanks to the cushy policies in Massachusetts, they were briefly bolstered by their freedom before being treated to a reality check by federal agents.
One of the standout elements of this operation was the arrest of an MS-13 gang member who had been released by local authorities just a day before. It seems local leaders are not too keen on working with ICE to keep criminals off the streets, proving that crime really does pay—at least in the twisted world of immigration policy. The gratitude expressed by law-abiding residents who shouted thanks to ICE agents as they took the gang member away shows that while these criminals may feel untouchable, the majority of Americans know exactly who threatens their communities.

As ICE officials breezed through East Boston, additional arrests made headlines, including a man who was apprehended after arriving under one of Biden’s mass parole programs, only to face charges related to sexual assault. Another individual, armed and dangerous, found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. It seems that in the Biden era, the crime wave isn’t just a trending topic but a tragic reality that impacts countless Americans.
The reality is that under the previous administration, illegal immigrants were hesitant to stay and run the risk of deportation. However, the current climate has emboldened certain individuals to think they can flout the law without consequence. With Mexican authorities now gearing up to accept non-Mexican deportees, one can only hope that this time around, illegal immigrants are putting their proverbial tail between their legs and seeking a path back home. But, given the recent narratives and arrests, that’s still a hope rather than a guarantee.
