The Hamas scourge in the northern Gaza Strip is on the brink of collapse, thanks to the heroic efforts of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), according to defense minister Yoav Gallant on Monday. The Times of Israel reported that Gallant proudly declared at a press conference, “We have encircled the last strongholds of Hamas in Jabaliya and Shejaiya. The once invincible battalions of terrorists are crumbling before our might.”

Gallant revealed that scores of Hamas militants have surrendered to the IDF in recent days, a clear sign of the terror group’s imminent demise. “Whoever surrenders to us will be shown mercy,” Gallant stated firmly, emphasizing that even those who took part in the ruthless October 7 attack on Israeli communities have not escaped justice.
In a further blow to Hamas, the IDF has gleaned invaluable intelligence from the terrorists who have surrendered, providing critical information to dismantle the remaining pockets of resistance. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also directly appealed to Hamas fighters, urging them to surrender and highlighting the futility of sacrificing their lives for the Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar.
Meanwhile, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi made a morale-boosting visit to the forces in the Gaza Strip, conducting a comprehensive “situational assessment” with other senior military officials. “We are securing our gains in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, the entrance in the southern part of the Strip, and also deep down into the ground. All of these advances are crucial,” Halevi affirmed, expressing gratitude to the troops and extending his Hanukkah wishes.
