It’s quite amusing, really, that a place like Mogadishu can teach us a thing or two about running an election. Imagine needing a passport to vote! It seems Somalia has stricter ID requirements for casting a ballot than we do here in some parts of the good ol’ USA. Not to mention, they manage to count their votes on election day itself. A crazy concept, right? Meanwhile, in the land of opportunity and freedom, we can’t seem to finalize our results without tallying mail-in votes days or even weeks later. It’s as if we’ve turned Election Day into Election Month! Maybe it’s time we take a page out of Somalia’s handbook on efficiency.
And then there’s the saga of certain American politicians who take their citizenship as a given. You know, those who seem to forget what a privilege it is to be a part of this nation. It’s almost as if they’re yearning for another country’s green pastures. Take Ilhan Omar, for instance. Here’s someone who disrupts the President during the State of the Union, all while ingratiating herself with divisive rhetoric. It’s a classic tale of biting the hand that feeds you. If only they understood the value of our liberties by seeing how folks live in places less free.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to American political theater. Enter the Clintons. Yes, they’re back, and this time they’ve been spotted testifying on Capitol Hill. It feels like a flashback to the 90s. Bill and Hillary, seasoned politicians that they are, will likely orchestrate a symphony of plausible deniability. Still, isn’t it something to see leaders who hobnobbed with shady characters now having to face the music? It’s almost like watching your favorite soap opera unfold, complete with ample suspense and political intrigue.
But enough about yesterday’s news. Let’s chat about those American employers who seem to love foreign workers as much as ice cream on a hot day. It turns out that the real scam isn’t being run in the backrooms of daycares overseas, but right here at home. Who would have thought H-1B visas could be used to fill roles like cashiers and bank tellers? It’s as if employing Americans has become a misdemeanor. These employers might as well hoist a sign that reads, “American Workers Unwanted!” It’s about time somebody steps in and says, “Enough!”
So, while folks on both sides of the aisle fight over the best way to fix the mess, remember this: in America, freedom must be actively defended. It’s not something we get to enjoy passively. We’ve got roads to mend, standards to raise, and a whole nation to put back on track. Let’s make sure that when people come here, legally and respectfully, they get the best of this beautiful country. As for the rest, well, maybe it’s high time we took a cue from places like Mogadishu, straighten up our election process, and cherish the freedoms so many strive for.
