The battle over the future of federal overreach is on full display as the Senate Appropriations Committee makes a stunning move to sideline Trump’s effort to stop the bureaucratic monstrosity known as the new FBI headquarters. The left-wing authoritarians just scored a major win by pushing forward plans for a sprawling new complex in Greenbelt, Maryland. And yes, this will be larger than the Pentagon itself. Imagine a complex so vast it dwarfs the symbol of American defense. What kind of future are the liberals in Washington planning?

This isn’t just another relocation. It’s a sinister expansion of the surveillance state, complete with all the woke trappings. Forget the ugly old J. Edgar Hoover Building. They want a shiny new palace filled with politically correct nonsense and limitless space to spy on ordinary Americans who have dared to challenge their oppressive narrative. It’s no secret that under Biden’s helm, the FBI has had an appetite for targeting citizens over political disagreements. Just wait until they have twice as much room to do it.
Dragging along as the heroes of this liberal farce are the usual suspects—Senator Lisa Murkowski and her friends in Maryland who stand to benefit from this massive expansion of government power. With a flick of her pen, Murkowski chose to side with those who’d rather see an Orwellian nightmare instead of an FBI that serves and protects the American people. Where are the investigations into the mission or security needs of this enormously decadent new project? Nowhere, because facts don’t align with their big government agenda.
What we’re witnessing is an unchecked power grab by the left. The Democrats are paving the way for a mega fortress from which they can launch further attacks on freedom, empowered by political correctness and woke ideology. All in an era where the average American faces scrutiny for passing the wrong comment at a school board meeting or exercising the basic rights our Constitution guarantees.
The only way to halt this madness is at the voting booth. The liberals and their allies in both parties have shown us their cards. Now they wait, eager for the day when they can fully execute their overreaching plans. The real question is, will the American people let them?
