The phrase "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" encompasses all Iran-backed militias that are active in Iraq and does not refer to a singular organization. Recent assaults on American forces in the region have been attributed to these militias, which are engaged in hostilities with Hamas as an extension of the dispute between Israel and Palestine. Notwithstanding the admonition by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin regarding "self-defense strikes" against affiliated groups of Iran, the assaults have persisted devoid of any substantial repercussions for Iran.
The ineffectiveness of the appeasement strategy implemented by the Biden administration towards Iran is evident in their belligerent behavior. The failure of the United States to effectively respond to attacks and permit sanctions to expire conveys a message of vulnerability to Iran and its terrorist proxies. This provides them with further motivation to intensify their assaults and considerably jeopardizes the security of American forces.
