Senator JD Vance of Ohio found himself on various Sunday talk shows recently where he pitched the prospect of a Trump-Vance ticket, leading many to wonder if he’s preparing to ride a political rollercoaster straight to the White House—or at least to a position where he can keep an eye on Kamala Harris. As the Vice President was nowhere to be seen during Vance’s media blitz, it felt like a classic game of hide-and-seek, only this time the stakes were higher than a game of tag in the backyard.
Vance had his work cut out for him as he squared off against mainstream media’s not-so-subtle attempts to peddle half-truths. During an episode of ABC News’ “This Week,” the host rudely interrupted Vance while disputing the notion that Harris ever held the title of “border czar.” Vance, never one to back down from a verbal duel, reminded everyone that despite the delusions of the media, Harris had indeed assumed that ominous title and made a mess of border policies.

Vance emphasized that the wide-open southern border was a direct result of policies pushed by Harris, who might as well have hung up a “Welcome Mat” at the border with all the neglect the administration has shown. The conversation then veered toward the increasingly absurd policies of Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz, with Vance pointing out that Walz has endorsed removing children from parents who don’t consent to their minor children undergoing gender reassignment procedures. It’s one of those “what on Earth?” moments that would leave any sane individual scratching their head in disbelief. Vance’s passionate criticism of Walz’s position likened it to an assault on parental rights, calling it downright “crazy.” Meanwhile, Walz was busy climbing his soapbox about “mind your own business,” as if he had the right to commandeer parental authority.
In a world where inflation is skyrocketing and grocery prices are rising faster than a balloon at a Fourth of July picnic, Vance questioned why the media wasn’t focused on issues that matter to ordinary Americans. Instead of addressing bread-and-butter concerns, it seems the media prefers to chase headlines with political theatrics and name-calling. When was the last time you heard Kamala Harris successfully answer questions on inflation or housing costs? Vance zeroed in on the real issues that voters care about, making it clear that the Democrats have turned this election into a circus rather than posing actual solutions to the crises at hand.
As the day progressed, Vance took on the media for its continuous defense of Harris, unearthing not-so-great moments of her campaign where she’s avoided serious questions like a kid dodging a math test. With Vance directing the conversation back to vital issues, he pointed out a fundamental truth: when faced with tough queries, Harris and her team go quiet while simultaneously projecting their shortcomings onto others. Appearances are everything, and Harris appears as if she’s auditioning for a sitcom rather than leading a serious campaign. In the end, it’s clear that while Vance is crafting a vision to restore America’s priorities, Harris remains stuck in scripted scenarios that might work in Hollywood but have no place in serious governance.
