But here’s the huge problem: Johnson already passed a clean continuing resolution to keep the government open, and it’s the Democrats who slammed the door shut. Yet Jeffries stands there, grandstanding as if Republicans are the ones holding the country hostage. It’s classic Democrat deceit—a desperate attempt to rewrite reality and blame Republicans for a shutdown they didn’t cause.
Jeffries claims Democrats want a “bipartisan” deal to reopen the government and improve American lives. But he conveniently ignores that the GOP’s clean resolution simply extended existing Biden-era policies without any fuss. No partisan poison pills, no spending hikes, no chaos—just keeping the lights on. Meanwhile, Democrats want to drag this out to push through reckless spending that includes healthcare for illegal immigrants and endless COVID-era handouts. This is about politics, not patriotism. Democrats have thrown a tantrum demanding government pay for their reckless social agenda, even as hardworking Americans get caught in the crossfire.

The narrative that Republicans somehow engineered a healthcare crisis that “ripped away coverage” is not just wrong—it’s outright gaslighting. Republicans have made it painfully clear to voters that Democrats are the ones splitting over coronavirus bailouts and immigration giveaways. Americans see through this charade. The majority have no appetite for Democrat demands that prioritize illegal aliens and reckless spending over the genuine needs of working-class families. Meanwhile, Jeffries pontificates about Republicans’ so-called “my way or the highway” tactics. Newsflash: that “highway” is the straight road back to fiscal sanity and border security. The Democrats’ refusal to negotiate in good faith only deepens the crisis.
Vice President JD Vance isn’t buying the left’s lies either. Nearly every Republican in the House and Senate voted to open the government. The shutdown is on the Democrats’ heads, plain and simple. Where are the bipartisan votes from the left? Instead of standing with America, they’re cozying up to special interests and pushing dangerous provisions that threaten the integrity of Medicaid and other vital programs. Outrageously, Democrats are tying government reopening to policies that reward illegal immigration with taxpayer-funded healthcare—something Americans overwhelmingly reject.
Speaker Johnson’s call-out of Jeffries should be a wake-up call. The GOP is on the right side of the shutdown fight, standing firm for responsible government and real solutions. The Democrats, meanwhile, cling to radical spending and globalist priorities that undermine our nation’s prosperity. If Democrats want a debate, fine—let them defend the shameful choice to shut down the government unless they get their way, handing out freebies to illegal aliens. But Americans aren’t fooled. When push comes to shove, who really cares about keeping the government running—the party of chaos, or the party of order? The answer is clear. America deserves better than these left-wing games. When will Democrats stop playing politics with our country’s future?
