Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) eviscerated Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in an exclusive chat with Sirius XM Breitbart News Daily, and boy, did he let Mitch have it! Johnson lambasted McConnell over the recent border bill “debacle,” revealing that McConnell’s big ol’ priority was shoveling money to Ukraine rather than making sure our border was secure.
Johnson suggested a cunning plan to tie funding directly to border metrics, so that President Biden had to show that he was getting those pesky numbers down if he wanted that sweet, sweet cash. But shockingly, McConnell didn’t even bother putting this idea on the negotiating table. Can you believe it?

According to Johnson, McConnell failed to link Ukraine aid to border metrics, leaving a lot of folks feeling betrayed and pretty ticked off. McConnell’s blunder apparently created a “debacle” for the American public by not making sure border security was part of the Ukraine deal. I mean, come on, Mitch, get it together!
The Senate passed a whopping $95 billion bill, with a chunky $60 billion earmarked for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, and about $5 billion for Taiwan and other East Asian buddies. And get this—previous proposals actually included money to secure the border, but thanks to Republican opposition, that version got the boot. It’s like getting all dressed up for prom and then being left without a date. So unfair!
Johnson pointed out that the border provisions negotiated by McConnell, Lankford, and the Democrats would have weakened the President’s border authority and let thousands of illegal immigrants waltz right in. Can you imagine the chaos? It’s enough to make Uncle Sam break a sweat.
To top it all off, Johnson couldn’t make heads or tails of McConnell’s priorities. I mean, funding Ukraine over securing our own border? It didn’t add up for him, and honestly, it doesn’t add up for me either. Johnson’s just shaking his head, wondering why the American public’s strong desire for a secure border got shoved to the back burner. It’s a head-scratcher, that’s for sure.
Folks, it’s clear as day that McConnell messed up big time, leaving us high and dry on border security. We need leaders who understand what really matters—protecting our borders and looking out for our own. Let’s hope McConnell gets his act together before the next big bill comes around.
