It’s clear that Special Counsel Smith is playing a game of peek-a-boo to shield FBI witnesses’ identities, fearing backlash from Trump supporters. But Judge Cannon wasn’t buying it, striking down Smith’s attempts to cloak the truth. Her ruling emphasized the importance of the public’s right to know, despite Smith’s feeble attempts to keep things shrouded in mystery.
And let’s not forget Smith’s desperate plea to keep government witnesses’ identities hidden to prevent any potential fallout if Trump gets elected again. Seriously? Smith’s fear-mongering tactics didn’t pan out as Judge Cannon sided with him on this one detail. Still, let’s hope that the truth will shine through even with some witness identities shielded by pseudonyms and redactions.
