Kamala Harris 2028 Rumors Swirl Despite Unremarkable Political Record

Rumors are swirling that Kamala Harris is contemplating another run for the presidency in 2028, thanks to some early primary polls that are seemingly “in her favor.” According to insiders within the Democrat Party, her ambition may be stronger than her record, which isn’t saying much. The Daily Mail reported that one Democratic strategist compared Harris’s situation to that of a backup quarterback who steps in during a game that was already lost—an apt metaphor given her unremarkable previous campaign.

Democratic insiders have been kinder to Harris than most observers. They describe her previous run for office as “near flawless”—which is quite a stretch. Many agree she stumbled significantly trying to shake off Biden’s less-than-stellar record. Perhaps she’s hoping to ride the coattails of his administration’s questionable achievements right into a primary showdown, banking on the fact that she’s amassed a decent amount of sympathy among the professional political class.

While it’s true the Democrat Party doesn’t have a particularly deep bench, celebrating Harris’s previous support in the 2020 primaries is like applauding a mediocre high school research paper. Sure, she managed to rack up more votes than most, second only to Biden and Trump, but let’s not forget she flamed out spectacularly before a single primary voter got to cast their ballot. Those are the kind of statistics that spark confidence and dread in equal measure.

On the flip side, Harris’s lackluster political skills have been well documented. When it comes to unscripted moments, her performance can only be described as cringeworthy. Those who dare to watch know it’s akin to throwing a football at a cat; no amount of practice seems to help her adapt or improve. If past performances are anything to go by, she appears stuck on autopilot, incapable of managing even a basic Q&A. One political communicator within the party even claimed that her meteoric rise was a double-edged sword; she lacks a defined political identity, creating a caution that has become her Achilles heel.

As the 2028 primaries approach, the notably hostile terrain of party politics looms large. Current polls may show her at the top with a commanding 41% support, leaving Gavin Newsom in her dust with only 8%. Yet, one can’t ignore that she bombed out spectacularly last election season. The moment any form of resistance pops up, she risks collapsing into the same abyss as her first attempt. Voters have long memories, and they won’t forget how Harris melted under pressure, even if she strolls in as the favorite.

As for any chance of improvement in the next five years, she’s another year older and hasn’t exactly wowed the audience thus far. Watching her campaign once again would certainly be entertaining, but chances are it will resemble last season’s reruns on a loop. Maybe a British accent could do the trick, lending her word salad some semblance of sophistication. At least that’s one way she could distract from her inability to articulate any solid policies. The comedy gold of a rematch with her awkward public speaking can’t be underestimated; it’s bound to offer a few good chuckles along the way.
