The financial antics of Vice President Kamala Harris’s failed presidential campaign could rival any soap opera plot twist. After amassing a staggering $1 billion but still managing to end up $20 million in the red, it turns out she funneled a hefty half million to Al Sharpton’s far-left National Action Network right before he tossed her some softballs during an interview. Nothing says, “I’m here for the people,” like greasing the wheels of a civil rights organization just before getting friendly airtime.
According to financial records, two payments of $250,000 each were made on September 5 and October 1. Just a few weeks later, the ever-charitable Sharpton hosted Harris on his MSNBC show, where he at least pretended to grill her with light questions about her campaign struggles. When the discussion veered into territory that had any implication of misogyny against her, Harris jumped at the opportunity to play the victim card, fully agreeing with Sharpton’s framing. One can’t help but wonder if she rehearsed her lines while counting her campaign cash.
SHARPTON: Are men "misogynist" if they don't support you?

Conservatives might raise an eyebrow at the millions spent on Sharpton’s operation, especially when reports surfaced about the organization using nearly a million dollars for private jets and rewarding Sharpton with a six-figure bonus. With a total compensation package of $648,794 for that year, it’s clear that Sharpton isn’t just a civil rights leader; he seems to be living the high life while waving the banner of social justice.
But it doesn’t stop there. Harris’s money management also meant she was doling out millions to other “social causes.” A couple of payments to Oprah Winfrey’s media company totaling a separate million dollars coincided with an exhibit of celebrity endorsement during a town hall event. Winfrey, when questioned about this cash grab, firmly denied receiving any money, which anyone with a pulse and a grasp of politics could decipher is just a diplomatic dodge given the complexities of celebrity endorsement deals.
Harris’s lavish spending spree didn’t discriminate; her campaign made sure to contribute funds across a range of minorities and civil rights organizations including $2 million to the National Urban League and significant sums to various other groups. The irony is thick as Harris set out to rally support from black and Latino voters, but both groups decidedly shifted their allegiances to Donald Trump in historic proportions. It appears the Vice President’s campaign strategy of cash handouts didn’t quite pay off. In the end, what can be more fitting than a campaign drowning in debt while trying to buy goodwill—and failing spectacularly?
