A significant majority—62%—believe it should be illegal to provide minors with puberty blockers or surgeries to change genders. Meanwhile, a whopping 72% oppose allowing biological males into women’s sports—making it clear that her stance is not just out of touch but potentially damaging to her party’s fortunes as the election season heats up. High-stakes race or not, Kamala Harris appears to be veering towards a political disaster with her stance.
Critics, including seasoned pollster Scott Rasmussen, have pointed out the stark disconnect between Harris’s declarations and the views of most Americans. The assertion that policies fostering inclusion for biological males in female spaces is somehow pro-equality comes across as a stretch; instead, it smacks of a radical ideology that ignores biological reality. Even former President Trump chimed in, taking to the stage to remind everyone that the conservative movement is the real “party of common sense.” He articulated a clear stance against the radical elements of the left, coyly referencing the disconnect with countries like Great Britain, which have opted to stop prescribing puberty blockers for children on safety grounds. The juxtaposition couldn’t be clearer: while Europe is re-evaluating its approach, American liberals seem hell-bent on doubling down.
As the final stretch of the presidential race approaches, Harris’s views from that 2023 speech may end up being the proverbial boomerang that hits her where it hurts—at the ballot box. In an environment where common sense and straightforward thinking prevail, it appears that Harris’s ideals might not land her in the office she so desperately seeks but rather secure her legacy as a symbol of what happens when progressive agendas clash head-on with reality.
