Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be in a bit of a pickle as the clock ticks down toward the critical Election Day. In an effort to rev up her struggling 2024 campaign, it seems she’s soliciting the aid of none other than First Lady Jill Biden. That’s right, as if the wisdom of political spouses had a long history of turning the tide, she’s being brought in to gin up support.
Jill Biden’s dazzling tour kicks off in Yuma, Arizona, where she’ll launch her charm offensive for Harris. After charming the feet off the locals in this border town, she’ll swing by Phoenix, presumably enjoying the sunshine while trying to convince Arizonans that Harris should be their next president. A few days later, she’ll be in northern Nevada, transitioning to the Detroit suburbs and wrapping it up in Wisconsin. Who needs grassroots campaigning when you can drag Jill Biden across states like she’s a prize winning pig at the county fair?
'Quick. We're in trouble on the campaign trail. We need Dr. Jill to help us…'

It might come as a shock—specifically to the first lady—that her last foray into Wisconsin was back in June, when she was kicking off the Seniors for Biden-Harris coalition. Apparently, the Biden campaign believed that charming seniors was more effective than addressing the countless issues glaring Americans in the face today. One has to wonder why the team is so keen to mobilize the elderly vote when they should likely be targeting the younger generation, who represent the long-term future they keep talking about.
In a move that can only be viewed as desperation, Jill Biden’s envelope-pushing strategy includes hitting voters over the head with lofty promises about reproductive rights and democracy. With a message as clear as mud, she’s likely to dazzle crowds with discussions about “strengthening democracy,” whatever that means. Apparently, in their latest twist, “strengthening democracy” requires invoking the ghost of the Founding Fathers… if they were alive today, they probably wouldn’t be too happy about the direction things have taken.
Meanwhile, President Biden will be in Milwaukee, ready to address a completely different matter: lead pipes. Yes, while the first lady goes on a wholesome “let’s pretend Harris is competent” tour, the president is elbow-deep in plumbing issues. This highlights a striking trend in this administration – when the political strategy is floundering, shift the focus to infrastructure problems that voters maybe care about, with the hope of masking the ongoing disasters in policy outcomes. One wonders how many short-term fixes are required before voters stop being amused by this circus act and start demanding serious leadership.
It seems clear that the Biden administration is scrambling. As they attempt to boost Harris with a tour led by the First Lady, it smacks of last-ditch efforts to save face before the voters awaken to the reality that they’ve been sold a bill of goods. Internal struggles, questionable policy focuses, and an upcoming election to face usher in a compelling narrative: the Democrats are running out of gas, and they don’t even have an oil change in sight.
