Apparently, under her watch, reparations won’t merely be a moral or legal discussion, but will conveniently slide into the healthcare category. Yes, those pesky high blood pressure and heart disease stats for Black Americans are now linked to the legacy of slavery. Forget diet and exercise; it’s all about racism, according to the left.
Harris recently shared her thoughts, claiming that the trauma from slavery has physiological ramifications decades later. This is a bold pivot from hard healthcare policy discussions to the emotional rollercoaster of reparations. After all, the more trauma is discussed, the less need there is for empirical evidence when pushing a political agenda. It’s almost comical how Harris claims that reparations for slavery won’t just benefit Black families, but the entire society. Apparently, financial handouts to a specific group might magically create a utopia for all. Meanwhile, polling reveals a different story. A staggering 68 percent of Americans disapprove of reparations, including a majority of whites who are far less likely to stand in solidarity with this historical compensation scheme. Even abortion advocates struggle to drum up as much dissent as reparations do.
When Harris and her radical reparations plan enter the fray, they remind Americans of just how far the Democratic Party is willing to stretch to secure votes. Fortunately for conservatives, this issue is a gift that keeps on giving—especially with the first Trump-Harris debate looming on September 10.
