It appears that Vice President Kamala Harris is adept at recycling debunked claims, as evidenced by her recent performance on The Breakfast Club. During an interview with host Charlamagne tha God, she reiterated the story that former President Donald Trump referred to members of the military as “suckers” and “losers.” This absurd assertion, which has been thoroughly discredited, seems to be a favored talking point among Democrats eager to paint Trump in a less-than-flattering light.
This entire charade draws its origins from a piece the Atlantic published back in September 2020—a publication that, like a broken clock, may occasionally tell the correct time. According to the Atlantic, Trump allegedly balked at visiting the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France, arguing it was filled with “losers.” Of course, such claims come from unnamed sources, which is a hallmark of media reporting today. Talk about taking “fake news” to a new level!
Kamala isn't even credible anymore. Nobody believes anything she says, and then she laughs about it. #Trump2024MAGA https://t.co/6R6IK6NFkv

In the same narrative, the Atlantic alleges that Trump questioned the significance of honoring those who bravely lost their lives, supposedly calling marines who fell at Belleau Wood “suckers.” Yet former administration officials, even those critical of Trump like John Bolton, have completely denied this narrative. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the so-called sources behind this story are as reliable as a Ford Pinto on the highway—both unreliable and likely to cause a lot of damage.
Despite the mounting evidence that contradicts the Atlantic’s claim, Democrats have continued to cling to this narrative like a toddler holding onto a security blanket. Former President Barack Obama knew just how to use this falsehood to rally his base during a campaign event, maintaining that Joe Biden would never utter such vile terms about our military. Sounds great on a campaign stage, but it’s still built on a foundation of sand, and even the most fervent supporters might start to feel a draft.
Harris’s insistence on dragging this old chestnut back into public discussion raises serious questions about her grasp of reality—or her willingness to ignore it for political gain. There are more substantial issues plaguing the nation than recycled rumors about Trump’s supposed comments. Yet here the Democrats are, grasping for straws to bolster their narrative and distract from their own shortcomings. If only they cared as much about the military’s actual needs as they do about perpetuating this discredited tale. They might just realize that they have bigger fish to fry.
