The political circus surrounding Kamala Harris’s campaign is beginning to resemble a sad attempt at a beauty contest for pigs. One can almost hear the snickers of conservatives as they observe the sleight of hand the Democrats are attempting—out with the old, in with the Harris.
In a world where creative marketing can make a mundane product attractive, Democrats are dusting off their old playbook and attempting to parrot notions of change while maintaining the same policies they’ve been shoving down America’s throat for years. This entire transition from Biden to Harris is making a clear statement: diversity is more important than results, and a woman in charge somehow makes the same failing policies taste better. Good luck finding a difference in the direction from the White House, though; it’s still the same misguided path lined with poor decisions.

Imagine the outrage if a Republican dared to make a comment suggesting that one could improve a female politician through mere cosmetic change. The media would have gone into a frenzy, producing hours of hand-wringing and op-eds about misogyny in politics. But when it happens under the banner of the left, the usual suspects pull a collective shrug—after all, to them, it’s just a colorful phrase.
It’s astonishing how the left seems to treat the electorate like kids in a candy store, selling them the same stale candy with a few new wrappers. Harris embodies this cynical strategy of only changing appearances while leaving policies like crime spikes, inflation, and foreign relations untouched. Supporters might applaud the change of complexion in leadership, but voters are not buying this somewhat desperate attempt to mask the same old failed strategies.
Despite 65% of Americans believing the country is on the wrong track, the Democrats are banking on the idea that a smiling face who checks the box on diversity will satisfy the public’s hunger for change. It’s the political version of dressing up the salad that is, at its core, just more pork chops. This tactic may have worked before, but voters are wise to the game. Expecting anything different from a Harris administration compared to what Biden has delivered is like waiting for pigs to not just fly, but to perform aerial stunts while juggling. For now, America will continue with the same dinner plan, and it seems the cooking will be just as disastrous as before.
