Kamala Harris, often touted as the backbone of Joe Biden’s campaign, is receiving a critical reexamination as her term unfolds. There seems to be a disconnect between the accolades she received while helping get Biden elected and the lackluster performance she has delivered since then. It’s almost as if she packed her bags with nothing but flair and left practicality behind at the door.
The enthusiastic support from the liberal media painted Harris as a groundbreaking leader who would shake things up in Washington. Yet, the reality seems to boil down to little more than buzzwords and photo-ops. While Harris was busy ensuring her spot in history, the nation’s pressing issues continued to pile up. The economy is floundering, inflation is eating away at middle-class comforts, and the border situation is a circus, but whatever Harris was bringing to the table remains a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

Creativity appears to have taken a permanent vacation from Harris’s office, leaving behind a barren wasteland of ideas and action. There were grand promises of progress and change, but when it came down to delivering real plans for the American people, she fell flat. It’s one thing to be a political figurehead, but quite another to possess the capabilities of a leader who can actually get things done. At this rate, she’d struggle to build a sandcastle at the beach, let alone construct a workable policy.
Not only has her position been marred by ineffectiveness, but her constant presence in the news tends to invoke eye rolls and groans rather than excitement. Every appearance seems to come with a cringy moment or two, proving once again that Harris may be better suited to the big screen than the political stage. The public is left wondering what exactly she thinks her job is and if one day she will surprise them with something more than just hot air.
In the grand scheme of things, the question persists: What exactly is Kamala Harris contributing? While Biden’s supporters chose to bask in the glow of her historic nomination, the reality is that the country is left wondering if it is time for another monumental shift — one that doesn’t involve such an underwhelming vice presidency. If the current trajectory continues, perhaps history will remember her more for her absence in practicality than her supposed role in the Biden election.
