Khashoggi’s DAWN: Cloaked Anti-Israel Hate Group Bankrolled by Left-Wing Elites

In October 2018, the dastardly murder of Saudi Arabian dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi rocked the world. The left-wing media couldn’t help themselves and immediately pointed fingers at Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the mastermind behind the assassination, all while conveniently ignoring the peaceful actions taken by the Saudi government to address the situation. Fast forward to 2023, and Khashoggi’s legacy lives on in the form of “Democracy for the Arab World Now” (DAWN), a nonprofit organization that seems to have taken a sharp turn towards bashing Israel and spouting anti-Semitic rhetoric.

It’s no surprise that DAWN, the brainchild of Khashoggi, has firmly embedded itself in the anti-Israel movement, with a little help from its friends on the left. Influential left-wing foundations such as the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and George Soros-backed Open Society Foundations have been showering DAWN with funding, allowing it to continue its crusade against Israel. And let’s not forget about the progressive Arca Foundation, linked to the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco fortune, which has also been lining DAWN’s pockets, proving that even big tobacco has a hand in this anti-Israel agenda.

The leading voice of this DAWN debacle is none other than Sarah Leah Whitson, who seems to have made a career out of bashing Israel and promoting anti-Israel propaganda. Her statements about the recent Hamas attack on Israel reek of bias and ignorance about the true nature of the conflict. With her history of downplaying violence in Israel and pushing for investigations into Israeli military commanders, it’s clear that she’s fully committed to the anti-Israel cause.

But it’s not just Whitson who’s leading the charge. Esam Omeish, a DAWN co-founder, has a troubling track record of advocating for violent measures to achieve political goals. And let’s not forget about Nihad Awad, the executive director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been connected to some shady business with Hamas. His troubling rhetoric about Palestinians “breaking the siege” on Israel is nothing short of alarming and promotes a dangerous narrative against the Israeli government.

The fact that DAWN is now using its platform to call for investigations into Israeli military commanders is not only outrageous but clearly plays into the hands of Hamas and their supporters. This so-called human rights organization is nothing more than a mouthpiece for anti-Israel activists who are looking to villainize Israel on the international stage. The dangerous rhetoric and actions of DAWN and its affiliates only serve to escalate tensions in an already volatile region, and it’s high time the truth about their agenda is brought to light.
