Kilmeade Sparks Controversy That Even CNN Can’t Ignore

The Department of Homeland Security has escalated its enforcement actions with “Operation Patriot 2.0,” a targeted push to crack down on some of the country’s most dangerous offenders. The initiative follows the success of the original operation earlier this year, which resulted in over 1,400 arrests. By zeroing in on drug traffickers, child predators, and repeat criminal aliens, DHS is sending a message that federal law enforcement will not be deterred by the political games of progressive leaders who continue to undermine national security. At a time when Americans feel increasingly unsafe, the operation represents a firm stance in defense of law-abiding citizens.

The numbers from the first round of arrests tell the story plainly. Roughly half of those taken into custody already carried criminal convictions—including violent assaults, drug distribution, and DUIs. More disturbingly, nearly 300 individuals were under deportation orders from immigration judges, yet remained in the country because sanctuary jurisdictions shielded them from removal. These are not the “hardworking dreamers” that the left tries to romanticize. These individuals demonstrate an outright disregard for American law, and leaving them on the streets is an insult to every family living with the consequences of rising crime.

And yet, in liberal strongholds like Boston, mayors such as Michelle Wu continue doing everything possible to handicap Immigration and Customs Enforcement. By refusing to cooperate with federal authorities, Wu not only makes it harder to remove dangerous criminals but also increases the chances of collateral arrests. In her quest to appease the far-left base, she places the lives of ordinary residents at risk. If protecting communities were truly her priority, she’d be standing alongside DHS, not standing in the way of enforcement that keeps dangerous predators out of our neighborhoods.

The glaring hypocrisy of Democrat leaders like Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley makes matters worse. While she rails against the supposed injustices of capitalism and economic inequality, she quietly enjoys the protection of her multi-million-dollar real estate holdings. Yet she openly opposes strong immigration enforcement, leaving working-class neighborhoods—those without private security or gated communities—more vulnerable to the criminals her policies enable. Her double standard epitomizes the disconnect between the progressive elite and the Americans left to deal with the consequences on the ground.

Operation Patriot 2.0 is proof that the federal government hasn’t given up on enforcing its laws, even as blue-city leaders openly sabotage efforts to keep communities safe. The bigger question now is whether everyday Americans will continue tolerating leaders who put ideology and optics above families’ safety. DHS has laid its cards on the table: enforcement, accountability, and rule of law. The real test is whether city and state officials will stop shielding offenders and start standing with the citizens they are supposed to represent. For many, the time for patience has already run out.
