Left’s Meltdown Over Colbert’s Exit: Comedy or a Constitutional Crisis?

The political circus on the left is at it again. This time, they’re losing their minds over Stephen Colbert losing his spot on “The Late Show.” It’s hard to believe, but some folks are genuinely acting like firing a comedian means the Constitution is collapsing. Sure, Colbert cracked Trump jokes, but suggesting his firing is a hit on democracy is laughable.

The truth is hard for some people to accept. The network ditched Colbert not because of censorship, but because of money. An unpopular show bleeding $40 million a year isn’t exactly a recipe for success. Instead of admitting that, liberal talking heads are trying to spin this whole thing into some kind of anti-Trump conspiracy.

Let’s get one thing straight: the First Amendment is about protecting speech from government interference. It doesn’t give anyone a guaranteed paycheck from CBS. The network had every right to ax Colbert when he wasn’t bringing in the cash. Private companies make decisions like this every day, without turning it into a constitutional crisis.

And spare us the drama from liberal elites claiming that censoring comedians is tearing our democracy apart. Colbert was no Edward R. Murrow. He was a nighttime entertainer, not a torchbearer of truth. The more they exaggerate, the more desperate they sound.

Leftists putting all this energy into Colbert’s firing should redirect their outrage. Maybe they could bring that fire to more serious issues. But hey, that wouldn’t fit the narrative of constantly playing the victim card. Why analyze facts when you can just point fingers and play the blame game?
