Democrats are at it again, redefining reality with their twisted narratives. This time, it’s Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who seems hell-bent on undermining the very purpose of law enforcement. On a podcast, Crockett claimed that police are not meant to prevent crime, but just to solve it. This is liberal insanity at its finest. America’s law enforcement officers should aim to prevent violence, not sit back and wait for tragedies to happen.
Enter Deon Joseph, a seasoned law enforcement veteran from Los Angeles, who knows the streets like the back of his hand. Joseph has spent years witnessing the harsh realities crime inflicts on communities. He has first-hand knowledge of how visibility and preventive measures can halt crime before it leaves devastation in its wake. These are the everyday heroes we need to support, not dismiss with nonsense claims that undercut their vital role.

What Crockett and her ilk seem to miss is the common-sense recognition of the crucial role law enforcement plays in preemptive safety. Studies show that increasing presence of law enforcement acts as a deterrent. You’re not likely to break the law when you know there’s a cop around the corner. But let’s not allow facts to get in the way of a good liberal mantra: disarm the police and watch crime run rampant. Who needs safety when you’ve got slogans, right?
The irony is that even prominent liberal-led cities like D.C. have experienced a significant drop in crime rates thanks to an increased presence of federal resources. Yet again, liberal hypocrisy runs amok. They want to badmouth federal assistance while pocketing the benefits it brings. When the results are right in front of your face, denying them is beyond irresponsible—it’s lethal.
Crockett and like-minded liberals need to stop playing politics with American lives. It’s time to face reality: law enforcement is indispensable, not just for solving crime but for preventing it. Isn’t it rich to hear lectures from those wrapped up in their own political games while our safety hangs in the balance? Maybe next time, they’ll rise above their anti-police bias and support the officers who are willing to lay their lives on the line to keep America safe.
