In the latest skirmish of cultural warfare, liberals are throwing a fit over a Republican proposal to rename the iconic John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center after former President Donald Trump. Leading the wailing choir is none other than Maria Shriver, a Kennedy clan member herself. She is losing her mind on social media over what she sees as a petty act from the GOP. Yet, can anyone really be surprised? Any attempt to honor President Trump is bound to trigger the left.
The so-called “Make Entertainment Great Again Act” introduced by Rep. Bob Onder aims to celebrate Trump’s undeniable impact on America’s culture. Unlike the globalists and liberal elites who disdain ordinary Americans, Trump remains a symbol of populism and cultural resonance. Yet, Shriver and her ilk clutch their pearls, aghast at a move that merely tips the hat to one of America’s unarguably transformative figures.
And it doesn’t stop there—there’s also talk about naming part of the Kennedy Center after Melania Trump, another figure that’s sure to make lefties hit the roof. Rep. Mike Simpson recognizes Melania Trump’s graceful promotion of the arts, wanting to honor her with the “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.” Liberals adore asserting themselves as the sole patrons of culture and elegance. Clearly, recognizing conservative contributions ruffles their feathers.

The left loves to call conservatives small-minded—even though its members routinely erase or rewrite history to suit their agenda. They can’t fathom America celebrating figures whose values veer from theirs. The establishment crumbles under the inadequacy of liberal ideas; embracing Trump shakes them to the core. Imagine the scandalous thought of considering conservatives as capable stewards of cultural heritage!
Liberals fear losing their grip on what they consider their exclusive domain—arts and culture. Why not take a breather and actually try to grasp the American spirit that embraces change and diversity of thought? Shouldn’t the arts celebrate all voices, or does inclusivity only apply when it’s convenient for the liberal narrative?
