Prepare yourselves for an unprecedented ride through a roller coaster of liberal insanity that will certainly induce a chill down your spine. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas presented a farcical performance that the Senate Appropriations Committee observed in close proximity. In addition to showcasing their incompetence as department heads, these two feeble administrators furnished an abundance of material for a comedy special.

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) was particularly enraged with Becerra's inability to provide an unequivocal response regarding the number of minor pregnancies facilitated by the Office of Refugee Resettlement and the exorbitant financial burden imposed on industrious taxpayers. Becerra avoided the issue by attempting to classify abortion as "emergency services" and rambling on about "rights to have healthcare services" in lieu of providing a definitive response. An exemplary illustration of liberal doublespeak!
But the situation worsens, or should we say improves further? Even more so, in November of last year, the Office of Refugee Resettlement under the HHS's Administration for Children and Families recommended that expectant minors and those who have been sexually assaulted be transported to states that support abortion rather than those that support life. What an abhorrent and contemptible action! Becerra is more concerned with diverting attention away from the crisis at our southern border and toward the utilization of taxpayer funds to enable abortions on demand for expectant migrant girls. Absolutely abhorrent!
Moreover, Becerra's Office of Refugee Resettlement seeks to secure taxpayer funding for these abhorrent procedures, and the Biden administration supports this heinous scheme without remorse. This directly violates the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the financing of elective abortions by taxpayers and has been in effect since 1976. Formerly a purported supporter of the Hyde Amendment, President Joe Biden has nowtiously abandoned his stance in order to appease the radical left.
It is crucial to bear in mind Becerra's history of providing complicated and problematic responses regarding abortion. During a hearing before the House Energy and Commerce Committee in May 2021, Becerra exhibited a fundamental ignorance regarding a federal law enacted in 2003 that prohibited the procedure of partial-birth abortion. Becerra's pro-abortion position is manifestly indicative of his overall inadequacy as a government official and is therefore not only immoral but also dishonest.
The accountability of the Biden administration and its lackeys, such as Becerra, for their calamitous and perilous policies is long overdue. Senators who advocate for the dignity and respect of young mothers while standing against these egregious violations of the law, such as Cindy Hyde-Smith and her colleagues, are performing the work of the Lord. It is incumbent upon us to compel substantive reform from the liberal spectacle that presently governs our nation, as the American people are entitled to more.
