Major League Baseball just rolled out its shiny new toy: the Automated Ball-Strike System, or ABS for short. Sounds high-tech, right? Now, managers and players can challenge the umpire if they think a pitch was called wrong. Supposedly, this is the answer fans have been waiting for. Of course, leave it to Democrats and the usual crowd to find a way to be on the wrong side of yet another common-sense issue.
It didn’t take long for chaos to break out. In a heated game between the Minnesota Twins and the Baltimore Orioles, fans saw what happens when you let robots—and impatient liberals—mess with America’s pastime. The Twins were rallying in the ninth inning, but after what looked like a clear walk, the Orioles pitcher challenged the call. Suddenly, the computer overturned the umpire: strike three, inning over. The Twins’ manager lost it, and who could blame him? After all, the rules are supposed to matter. The pitcher didn’t even challenge fast enough! But somehow, the liberals and their media friends will pretend fairness isn’t the point. They’re too busy shoving “progress” down everyone’s throats, no matter the cost.

The real kicker is how out of touch the left is with everyday Americans. Democrats and their elite pals love to claim they support fairness and transparency. But when it comes to something as pure as baseball—or as crucial as our elections—they’ll twist every rule and use every gimmick to rig the outcome. They don’t care about tradition or the will of the people. If it means more control and less accountability, they’re all for it. Remind you of anything else? It should.
Common sense says keep the human element in baseball. That’s what makes the game great. No computer can capture the spirit, the drama, or the imperfect beauty of a ballgame called by men who have sweat and bled on the field. The fans get it. Most Americans don’t want robots ruling the diamond; they want umpires with guts and judgment and yes, the courage to get it wrong sometimes. That’s how life works. But again, liberals can’t stand the idea that life isn’t all algorithms and government handouts.
So here we are, with yet another American institution caught in the crossfire of the left’s war on reality. If Democrats had their way, we’d replace every judge, teacher, and even parent with a robot programmed by the DNC. Maybe someday, the left will wake up and realize that fairness means following the rules, not rewriting them whenever they lose.
But if you’re waiting for Democrats to understand real fairness—whether on the field or at the ballot box—don’t hold your breath. At this point, one has to wonder if they even know what the word means.
