It is essential to recognize that when individuals come to the United States on student visas, they are visitors and should respect the values and principles that this great nation stands for.
Many Americans are rightly concerned about the rhetoric emerging from some student groups. However, it is crucial to differentiate between peaceful protest and advocacy for violence. The protests have largely been focused on calling for institutional transparency and divestment regarding ties to Israeli companies, rather than supporting Hamas or promoting violence and anti-Semitic behavior.
When someone enters the U.S. with the intention of stirring up hatred or violence, it is not just a breach of decorum; it is a violation of the trust extended to them upon entry.
