Mark Morgan, the former head honcho at Customs and Border Protection (CBP), recently took the media to task for making a big fuss over Kamala Harris’s supposedly changing views on border security. As Americans grapple with the ongoing border crisis that has seen over 10 million illegal crossings under the Biden administration, one can’t help but wonder if Harris is just saying whatever might help her get elected. It’s a strategy that’s worked for her in the past, after all.
Morgan dismissed the notion of Harris “flip-flopping” as more of a media spin rather than a genuine change in policy. He suggested that her recent tough talk on border issues is simply a calculated move to win votes, rather than reflecting any real commitment to improving security. Considering her record, which includes voting against border walls and referring to ICE as akin to the KKK, it’s hard to argue with that assessment. Morgan’s point, much like her past policies, is clear: she has been an outspoken critic of serious border enforcement measures.

It’s no secret that Republicans have chewed Harris out for her role in the ongoing influx of migrants, with tens of thousands making their way across the border each month. The Biden administration touted her as the “border czar” back in 2021, claiming she would tackle the crisis, only for her spokesperson to clarify later that her role was primarily focused on diplomatic nonsense. Not long after, the GOP-led House issued a resolution condemning her performance, a clear indication that her strategy has left much to be desired.
And speaking of immigration, Morgan pulled no punches by highlighting the stark difference between Harris’s claims and the reality on the ground. The detached leadership from the left has allowed things to spiral out of control, leading to millions entering the U.S. illegally. He predicted that if Harris ascends to the presidency in 2024, the border wall is as good as dead, and illegal immigration will continue to flourish. Sanctuary cities and the abolishment of ICE seem to be on her agenda, which leaves many scratching their heads as to how she can promise security when her past points in the opposite direction.
Morgan suggested that Harris owes it to the American people to clarify her so-called changes in stance on these critical issues. Why not sit down for an interview and explain why she suddenly appears to have a newfound commitment to border security? With her history of opposing border protections, many are left wondering if this is all just an elaborate act designed to secure votes rather than a true pivot toward better policies. So the question remains: will Kamala Harris step up to explain herself, or will she stick to her same old script while the chaos continues?
