Media Admits Bidenomics a Fantasy as Trump Works to Fix Economy

After four years of toasting Bidenomics like it was the best party since the ’80s, the mainstream media has finally found the courage to admit what those pesky conservatives have been screaming about all along: the economy is a mess. With President Biden now out of office, the truth is trickling out faster than a leaky faucet, and it’s not pretty.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has thrown the gauntlet down, taking aim at the media’s rosy portrayal of the economy during Biden’s tenure. In his recent comments, he pointed out what every working American has felt in their wallets—Biden’s economic policies were not a success story but rather a grand fantasy that left many in the dust. The media may have indulged in some serious wishful thinking, but the reality is as bleak as a winter morning in the Midwest.

Bessent highlighted a curious transformation in rhetoric. During the campaign, the media sang the praises of a ‘great’ economy, but now that President Trump has resumed command, they are suddenly raising alarms about an impending economic disaster. Bessent reminded everyone that millions of working-class Americans weren’t just imagining their struggles with rising costs and stagnant wages; their lived experiences were all too real, and they ultimately led to the election of Trump. The affordability crisis is the hangover from the party that was Bidenomics, and it’s one for which working families are still paying the price.

The disaster of the last four years is evident in the form of gigantic deficits and overwhelming government regulations. For every dollar spent in an attempt to stimulate the economy, there was a demand shock met with supply constraints. Bessent explained that the process of deregulation has begun under the Trump administration to set the economy back on track. In just a few weeks, the Trump team is working tirelessly to correct the course that Biden’s policies steered so far off the rails.

To add insult to injury, Bessent’s remarks regarding the private sector experiencing a recession are finally echoing what financial commentators on the right have been saying for months. With the Atlanta Fed now projecting a shocking 1.5% contraction in the economy, the wheels of reality are creaking into motion. Ironically, a recent article in Fortune blamed Trump’s tariffs for this downturn, despite admitting that those tariffs haven’t even taken effect yet. One has to wonder how much more the media can twist the narrative to protect the previous administration from accountability.

As the true repercussions of Biden’s excesses are unveiled, it’s clear that the economic repercussions will not vanish overnight. While the liberal pundits prepare to label any economic hiccup as Trump’s doing, the reality is that we are merely experiencing the painful aftereffects of Biden’s fiscal hangover. Though fixing the mess left behind will take time, there is a glimmer of hope as the country emerges from the shadow of misguided policies. The American economy might just need a little tough love to stand back on its feet and thrive once more.
