Over the Memorial Day weekend, Washington, D.C., experienced a tragic increase in violent crime, with at least three men losing their lives in separate incidents. The incidents occurred in different areas of the district, leaving residents concerned about their safety.
In southeast Washington, Naheem Worley, 19, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was found with multiple gunshot injuries. The following day, Tommy Hudson, 58, from the northwest quadrant of the district, was found fatally stabbed in the 500 block of Harvard Street. Finally, on Monday afternoon, Chidozie Njoku, 23, of Temple Hills, Maryland, was fatally shot in the northeastern part of the district.
At least three men were killed in three separate homicides in Washington, D.C., on each day of the Memorial Day weekend holiday.
