Michigan GOP Slams Biden for Rise in Extremist Speech

Reps. from Michigan's Republican Party recently denounced the unsettling "Death to America" chanting that occurred during an Al Quds protest in Dearborn, Michigan. The cries started when activist Tarek Bazzi, who claimed that America is among the "most corrupt nations" in the world, questioned the prior classification of Al-Quds Day demonstrations as "anti-America." The White House, which denounced the "abhorrent and antisemitic remarks" spoken at the event, criticized this rhetoric.

Congressman John Moolenaar urged the Department of Justice to prosecute the demonstrators, stressing that the "Death to America" slogan poses a threat. He emphasized that screaming such words and phrases should be looked into and prosecuted as it is not protected speech. Concerned about the divisive rhetoric, Representative Lisa McClain criticized the Biden administration for enabling extreme speech to gain traction.

Representative John James accused Democrats of being hypocritical for quickly denouncing statements they deemed offensive but failing to condemn demands for the murder of Jews. He emphasized that America is the greatest country in the world despite its flaws and drew attention to the Left's extreme rhetoric's widespread popularity. In the meantime, Congressman Jack Bergman voiced his displeasure with Governor Whitmer and Northern Michigan Democrats for not denouncing the shouts.

These cries highlighted the alarming trend of anti-American attitude as the Biden administration came under fire for not taking the surge in antisemitism seriously after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. The administration's response to these instances and its attempts to successfully combat antisemitism have come under fire from conservative critics, who have highlighted the need for strong leadership in preserving American security and values.
