California’s radical governor, Gavin Newsom, is up to his old tricks again. This time, he’s decided it’s a good idea to cut clean energy deals not with his own country, but with the United Kingdom. Is Newsom trying to be a governor—or some international celebrity? President Trump wasn’t having it. He called out Newsom’s move as not just bizarre, but flat-out wrong.
Let’s get something straight. American governors are supposed to work for the people of their own state, not run around pretending they can make foreign policy. Newsom’s antics don’t just look foolish—they undermine America’s interests. He’s eager to sign away California’s energy future to globalist climate crusaders overseas, all while working families at home suffer under his bad policies. Why is a state leader negotiating with other countries? That’s not his job.

The British officials should think twice before shaking hands with a liberal governor desperate for attention. California is falling apart under Newsom. Crime, homelessness, and sky-high gas prices are out of control. He can’t even keep his own house in order, and now he wants to sell California’s future off to the highest global bidder? This is the left’s real agenda: hand over American power to anyone but the American people.
It’s amazing how quickly Democrats are to attack anyone who tries to put America first. Yet, when it’s Newsom cozying up to foreign leaders for “climate deals,” suddenly it’s just business as usual. The hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious. Liberals love to stomp on American sovereignty if it means they get praise from European elites.
President Trump is right to call out these games. America decides America’s future—not some out-of-touch progressive elite looking for applause in foreign capitals. The American people deserve leaders who fight for them, not ones who bend the knee to globalist schemes. How long are we going to let Democrats sell out our country piece by piece?
