Newt Gingrich’s Unexpected Twist in Speaker Race Advice!

Republican stalwart Newt Gingrich has come forward with some valuable advice for his party as they continue their search for a new Speaker of the House. With weeks passing since the historic ousting of Kevin McCarthy (Ca.), Republicans have yet to find a suitable replacement. The initial favorites, Steve Scalise (La.) and Jim Jordan (Oh.), were unable to gather enough support.

Gingrich suggests taking a different approach and “working backwards” to choose a candidate who can effectively unite the conference. In his opinion, it would be best to start with someone capable of bringing everyone together, rather than focusing solely on well-known names. Gingrich also believes that having a woman in charge might be the answer to taming the “rowdy” caucus. He specifically recommended Elise Stefanik from New York and Beth Van Duyne from Texas as potential candidates.

The former Speaker expressed his frustrations with the recent ousting of McCarthy, condemning the eight Republicans who joined forces with Democrats to defeat 96 percent of the conference. Gingrich believes their actions have opened the gates to an unforeseen level of chaos within the party. He urges Republicans to come together and find a resolution that ensures unity in the future.

Gingrich’s final advice for Republicans is to huddle together until they can secure the necessary 217 votes in order to move forward with a new Speaker. Without this unity, the danger of returning to square one remains a looming threat. It’s clear that Gingrich values a strong and united Republican Party, and he hopes his party will heed his words.
