Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has stirred controversy within the Haley Voters for Biden PAC by endorsing former President Donald Trump. The PAC's senior adviser, Robert Schwartz, expressed that Haley’s endorsement has complicated their efforts to advocate for President Joe Biden. This endorsement makes it more challenging to persuade voters to support Biden.
Schwartz mentioned that Haley’s endorsement of Trump was not entirely unexpected, given her consistent criticism of Biden at rallies and her relatively restrained comments about Trump. He also stated that they “respectfully disagree” with Haley’s decision.

Meanwhile, the Biden campaign is actively courting Haley’s supporters, aiming to form a coalition of Republicans. Despite exiting the 2024 Republican primary race, Haley has continued to garner substantial voter support in various states, including some traditionally Democratic ones.
A March poll indicated that Haley’s supporters align more with Biden than Trump on numerous issues, with only a small fraction of non-Democratic Haley voters identifying as Republicans. Although Haley was the last of Trump’s primary rivals to withhold an endorsement, Schwartz noted that her support for Trump was “incredibly tepid,” highlighting her acknowledgment that “Trump has not been perfect” in her endorsement speech.
Nikki Haley’s decision has created some political friction, and the full impact of her endorsement on the upcoming election remains to be seen.
