In the 1930s, the New York Times awarded a Pulitzer Prize to journalist Walter Duranty for his coverage of the Soviet Union. However, it later came to light that Duranty was a sympathizer of communism and had lied about the Soviet famine and other tragedies, such as the widespread murder of millions of Ukrainians. Despite this revelation, the New York Times has never revoked Duranty’s Pulitzer Prize. This raises the question of why Western media today is parroting the talking points of Hamas.
Walter Duranty was a useful idiot for the Soviets, promoting their beliefs. Similarly, Hamas exists with the sole purpose of eradicating all Jews worldwide, as stated in their charter. Any journalist who unquestioningly accepts and spreads Hamas’s propaganda is essentially siding with a death cult. Let’s not mince words here – Hamas is a death cult. They actively seek the deaths of both Jews and Palestinians. When Hamas prevents Palestinians from evacuating or targets evacuation routes, they are making it clear what they want. It is unsettling and evil for a party to adopt a war strategy that maximizes the deaths of civilians on their own side. This is not a human shield strategy; it is a human sacrifice strategy.

The recent missile explosion at a hospital in Gaza further illustrates the media’s biased reporting. Initially, reports blamed Israel for conducting an airstrike on the hospital, leading to the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians. However, independent intelligence organizations discovered that the missile had actually originated in Palestinian territory and landed on the hospital. It was revealed that Hamas had listed several targets in Israel for missile attacks, and the Israel Defense Force confirmed that the missile was launched by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, not Hamas. But the damage was already done – protests erupted across the Middle East, and terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah seized the opportunity to fan the flames. Journalists, in their rush to condemn Israel, ended up playing into the hands of bloodthirsty terrorists.
This biased reporting is reminiscent of blood libel, where Jews are falsely accused of murdering innocents. In this case, the American media blamed Jews for an attack orchestrated by Palestinian terrorists. The media’s rush to assign blame before all the facts were known demonstrates that they were willing to be useful idiots for Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran. Only when irrefutable evidence emerged did some outlets change their tune. The media could have exercised caution and reported the event as an explosion at a hospital, waiting for evidence to emerge. Instead, they eagerly pointed the finger at the Jews.
Walter Duranty had his excuse – he was a communist sympathizer. But what excuse does today’s media have for uncritically accepting the narrative of a death cult? They are more than just useful idiots. They are complicit in furthering the agenda of a terrorist organization. These biased reporters should be held accountable for their irresponsible actions.
