POLITICO’s Clumsy Attempt to Spin Trump’s Obvious Biden-Harris Economic Critique

In the ongoing political theater, POLITICO seems to be auditioning for the role of the clumsy jester when it comes to covering Kamala Harris, the latest Democrat hopeful. A prime example of this came during Trump’s speech in Asheville, North Carolina, where he made the bold move of daring to connect Harris to Biden on the economic front. POLITICO appears bent on making this a scandal, as if pointing out the obvious is some kind of crime against journalistic integrity.

Let’s not mince words: Harris is already linked to Biden. She was his running mate in 2020 and now serves as vice president, carrying the baggage that comes from being a part of this administration. Biden has even thrown his endorsement behind her as a potential successor. So, it’s somewhat rich for POLITICO to pretend that Trump’s remarks about them being “a team” are some revelation that needs to be sensationalized. News flash: they are a team, and it’s working about as well as a three-legged stool.

In his speech, Trump didn’t just make a passing comment. He took a preemptive swing at Harris’ supposedly “anticipated” economic policy rollout—complete with price controls on food that would make even a socialist blush. Trump pointed out that the current suffering Americans are experiencing can largely be attributed to Harris and Biden’s disastrous economic policies. His constant references to them as a duo throughout his speech were a strategic move aimed at connecting their political fates, especially as Harris prepares to take the stage on economic issues.

As for POLITICO—while they complain about Trump’s “vague promises,” many would argue that Harris’ plans are even more elusive. Her website feels like a ghost town when it comes to policy details, and if speculation could fuel an economy, she might just have us all zipping around in flying cars by now. Instead, her announcement about price controls shows a severe lack of understanding of market dynamics. This kind of tepid policy approach raises serious questions about momentum, which seems more like a fleeting honeymoon period than any enduring wave of support.

Then there is the supposed “sustained upswing” of the economy that POLITICO insists upon. It’s astounding how the media continues to spin the narrative that everything is peachy keen under Biden and Harris, despite inflation being stubbornly high. Just because there are a few jobs added here and there doesn’t erase the grim reality that many families are feeling the pinch at the grocery store, all while POLITICO pretends that somehow, we’ve all entered an economic utopia thanks to the Democrats’ spending spree.

Voters trust Trump more than Biden or Harris when it comes to economic issues, and that sentiment is reflected in the polls, which consistently show dissatisfaction with the current administration’s handling of finances. It’s almost comical to see the media try to sell Harris as some sort of economic visionary when her track record is pockmarked with failed initiatives, including her notorious stance against fracking and the border chaos that she conveniently sidesteps like a game of hopscotch.

So, in the grand scheme of things, tying Kamala Harris to Joe Biden is as obvious as connecting dots on a child’s coloring page. The reality is that they are a team, and their record on the economy is a train wreck. POLITICO may need to accept this rather than trying to portray Trump’s comments as a dire prediction. After all, the only real mystery here is how the Biden-Harris administration continues to avoid accountability for its economic missteps.
