Pro-Life Group Accuses Planned Parenthood of Tax Violations

A pro-life organization has once again put Planned Parenthood in the hot seat, bringing allegations of tax law violations to the IRS. The group, 40 Days for Life, has filed an official complaint asserting that Planned Parenthood of Florida irresponsibly lent its support to Vice President Kamala Harris during her unsuccessful presidential run. This accusation isn’t just some fly-by-night opinion. It is rooted in the serious claim that these actions could jeopardize Planned Parenthood’s tax-exempt status.

The CEO of 40 Days for Life, Shawn Carney, emphasized that such behavior fits into a larger pattern of misconduct from Planned Parenthood. He noted that their team, dedicated to offering alternatives to abortion, has been observing the activities at over 1,700 Planned Parenthood locations. It appears they have witnessed some shenanigans that raise eyebrows. For starters, there were reports of flyers promoting “Tim Walz Tuesdays”—a campaign event that may not spark any excitement but certainly suggests a partisan agenda. According to Carney, these events were not open to Republicans, effectively painting Planned Parenthood’s operations as politically biased.

Planned Parenthood’s political maneuvering raises concerns about its adherence to the core principles that come with being a 501(c)(3) organization. Carney pointed out that this kind of blatant political activity is a serious no-no in the nonprofit world, echoing the sentiment that some rules are meant to be followed—especially when taxpayer money is at stake.

Adding fuel to the fire, Carney remarked that despite their politically charged efforts, the Harris-Walz campaign turned out to be a spectacular flop—a testament to the fact that running on an abortion-celebrating platform isn’t exactly a recipe for electoral success. The organization’s frustrations were palpable as they orchestrated a call to action, demanding that the Trump administration pursue an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s alleged infractions.

This isn’t the first time Planned Parenthood has been accused of political impropriety. Just months ago, 40 Days for Life filed another complaint regarding Planned Parenthood of Great Rivers, which allegedly set up camp near the Democratic National Convention with its mobile van. According to the group’s letter, this was more than just a location choice; it was a political endorsement that undermined the organization’s tax-exempt privileges. If this doesn’t sound like a misuse of taxpayer funds, what does?

Once again, the abortion behemoth finds itself on the defensive, deprived of the ability to cloak its political actions under the guise of nonprofit status. With 40 Days for Life rallying citizens to petition against Planned Parenthood, the question looms large: how much longer will this organization continue to benefit from taxpayer dollars while allegedly playing political games? It’s time for accountability, and the public is clearly more than ready to demand a reckoning.
