Rep Ogles Moves to Impeach Vice President Harris Amid Border Crisis and Biden Concerns

Rep. Andy Ogles from Tennessee has taken the bold step of introducing articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris, citing high crimes and misdemeanors. This political spectacle happens to coincide with President Joe Biden’s recent announcement that he’s exiting the presidential race – right after he gave Harris the nod as his chosen successor. After Biden’s endorsement, Harris secured her delegate support to become the nominee. So, one could argue that the timing is quite exquisite, or more accurately, ironic.

Two key articles are at the heart of this impeachment initiative, both stemming from what many conservatives see as a categorical failure by Harris in her role as the border czar. Allegations include a “willful refusal to uphold the immigration laws” and a glaring inaction amid the current border crisis. It seems Harris has achieved the rare distinction of deepening the national crisis while simultaneously ignoring her responsibilities. It can hardly be considered a surprise; after all, she’s been presiding over a southern border that resembles a chaotic carnival more than a secure entrance to the nation.

In addition, the second article touches on something all too familiar: the legacy of “misleading” the public regarding President Biden’s cognitive fitness. The mounting concerns about Biden’s mental clarity have hardly gone unnoticed, especially in light of his more recent public performances. But despite direct evidence captured on camera of Biden struggling to hold it together, this has been dismissed by the Democrats as “cheap fakes.” Perhaps they think that just wearing a tinfoil hat will protect them from the obvious.

Articles of impeachment also highlight Harris’ refusal to invoke the 25th Amendment, hinting that she has not only run away from responsibility but has perhaps become complicit in the ongoing confusion surrounding the President’s cognitive health. The articles accuse her of breaching the public trust, establishing a record that showcases a severe lack of integrity in not addressing the questions swirling around Biden’s mental condition. Essentially, the implications are that the administration is more about dodging accountability than actually governing.

The reaction to Ogles’ impeachment articles has sparked a spirited debate on Capitol Hill, with Rep. Jerry Nadler from New York dismissing the push as “nonsense.” Nadler seems to believe that this is all merely a Republican ploy driven by fear of Harris. In stark contrast, Ogles asserts that it’s the American people who should be genuinely alarmed, pointing to the havoc wrought on communities due to drug overdoses and violence that some attribute to the administrative failures at the border under Harris’ leadership.

Calls for invoking the 25th Amendment have become more prevalent among GOP members, signaling a growing unease with the dual leadership of Biden and Harris. Ogles’ persistent demands for transparency and accountability could potentially mark a watershed moment for the GOP as they look to draw contrast between traditional competency in leadership and the current chaos. In times of unrest, drastic measures often become the order of the day, and Rep. Ogles seems more than ready for the fight.
