It’s encouraging to see Senators like John Kennedy and Thom Tillis stand their ground. Unlike the wavering left who flip-flop on principles whenever it’s advantageous, these conservatives understand that the filibuster isn’t just about stopping bad ideas today. It’s about ensuring we don’t destroy the frameworks protecting us tomorrow when political tides shift again. The filibuster empowers the minority, allowing future generations to even the playing field against radical agendas.
But, as cracks begin to show, some Republicans are starting to bend. John Cornyn and Josh Hawley are feeling the heat, tempted by the siren’s call to bend Senate rules under pressure. Yet, their wavering highlights a critical choice facing Republicans today. A choice between the long-term health of our republic and fleeting political victories.
The question is simple: will Republicans cave to short-term fixes, or will they uphold the values ensuring democracy’s survival? America needs steadfastness, not compromise. After all, when standing between liberal chaos and conservative order, will the GOP choose the easy path of globalist appeasement? Or will they defend the bulwark that keeps America great?
