Republican state attorneys general in Texas and Florida have taken bold steps toward justice, reasserting American values that liberals have long tried to undermine. On the day when the nation pays tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., these leaders did the right thing by calling time on discriminatory affirmative action and DEI policies. Contrary to leftist lies, one can reject these policies and still honor King’s dream of a colorblind society.
Ken Paxton of Texas and James Uthmeier of Florida made it clear that treating people based on skin color goes against everything America stands for. Yet liberals will pretend this move is somehow against civil rights, ignoring the irony of their divisive tactics. If discrimination is wrong, then it is always wrong, no matter what flavor the progressives want to put on it.

The critics, of course, are already weeping into their lattes. They claim it’s an attack on diversity—what it really is, is an attack on inequality. How much longer can Americans tolerate the progressive agenda, which seeks to divide us further under the guise of making things fair? It’s time to step up and say enough is enough. The liberal agenda would have us believe that endless bureaucracies are the solution, yet they only serve to sow division.
Paxton and Uthmeier are challenging the corrosive mindset that judges people not on merit but on metrics. Isn’t it time these so-called champions of equality got it through their thick skulls? People should be judged by their abilities and character, not their color or heritage. True freedom comes not from being handed a trophy just for showing up, but from earning it through determination and skill.
The dismantling of these flawed policies is a victory for common sense and good governance. With liberals foaming at the mouth, one has to ask: Are they upset because conservative leaders did the right thing, or because more Americans will soon see just how ridiculous their ideas are? Aren’t we tired of apologies and excuses for holding America to the standards outlined in its founding values? Those who understand what makes this nation great know the answer.
