Former New York City mayor and staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, was recently served notice of his Arizona indictment at his 80th birthday celebration in Palm Beach, Florida. Some guests at the party were startled and emotionally upset when Giuliani was approached by state officials to be served. Caroline Wren, a prominent GOP consultant who hosted the birthday party, criticized the Arizona Secretary of State’s use of resources, stating that the officials’ actions resembled a military invasion.

The Arizona indictment is related to the alleged “fake electors” plot, in which Giuliani and 17 others are accused of forging documents to support the false claim that Trump had won the 2020 election. The charges against Giuliani and his associates include conspiracy, forgery, and fraud. Notably, Trump strategists Steve Bannon and Roger Stone were also present at the party in Palm Beach when Giuliani was served.
Giuliani’s political adviser, Ted Goodman, expressed displeasure at the officials’ methods, stressing that they could have been more respectful during the celebratory occasion. Additionally, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, emphasized that “nobody is above the law” in response to Giuliani being served at his birthday party.
This incident has drawn attention and sparked controversy, with some drawing parallels to other recent unusual serving of legal notices. Notably, the legal team of former President Trump served a subpoena to Stormy Daniels in a similar fashion, leaving the papers at her feet as she entered a bar in Brooklyn.
