MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough has returned to his old antics, taking aim at President-elect Donald Trump just as surely as he took a trip to Mar-a-Lago for what was touted as a bridge-mending session. Apparently, breaking bread with Trump did little to thaw Scarborough’s icy relationship with the incoming administration. Instead, he resumed his habitual bashing, serving up critiques of Trump’s staff selections that some might say are rich coming from a man whose opinions have not exactly been in high demand.
This week, Scarborough wasted no time lobbing grenades at two of Trump’s top appointments: Kash Patel for FBI director and Pete Hegseth for defense secretary. By his own assessment, these picks represent some of the “most dangerous selections” one might find in the corridors of power. If that is the case, then one has to wonder whom Scarborough regards as competent—perhaps those who have spent decades in the Washington swamp without making any waves at all?
Scarborough’s latest diatribe seems particularly ironic given the nature of his recent Florida trip, which he orchestrated alongside co-host Mika Brzezinski. The couple claimed they were off to “mend fences,” but their media colleagues wasted no time slamming the duo upon their announcement. Apparently, Scarborough’s intention to cozy up to Trump hasn’t translated into any form of loyalty, as he quickly aligned himself with prevailing D.C. sentiments that are all too familiar to anyone who has followed the liberal echo chamber.
One can almost picture Scarborough salivating at the prospect of maligning the interests of individuals like Hegseth and Patel, both of whom bring a wealth of experience and perspective to their respective roles. Scarborough’s suggestion that Hegseth is unqualified due to his alleged lack of bureaucratic expertise raises an eyebrow. Given the track record of many career bureaucrats, it’s questionable whether experience in the swamp is a virtue or liability. It’s almost as if Scarborough believes that running the Defense Department requires a PhD in government with decades of bureaucratic experience rather than a common-sense approach to keeping America safe.
Liberal Media Scream: MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough back to attacking Trump @BrentHBaker 'He’s learned nothing about why so many have such contempt for the legacy media'https://t.co/nG7yxFptJu via @dcexaminer

The vitriol directed at Kash Patel is particularly amusing, considering that Scarborough didn’t seem so concerned about questions of legality when the media was busy pushing dubious narratives in 2020. While Scarborough chooses to portray Patel as a would-be tyrant intent on punishing dissenters, one can only speculate whether that portrayal is rooted in legitimate concerns or simply another instance of the liberal media’s baseless fearmongering. It is ironic how quickly the left assumes defenders of Trump must be out for blood when in reality, the focus should be on getting America back on track.
Through all the noise, it’s clear that Scarborough’s attempts to vilify Trump’s appointments play right into a larger narrative. Those who continue to echo the deep state’s disdain for Trump’s choices, like Scarborough, have evidently not learned why there is a growing contempt for mainstream media. After all, critics who wax poetic on the dangers of Trump’s administration should take a long look in the mirror before singing their old, tired song. It seems the louder they scream, the more they expose their own biases and fear of the change that more Americans are beginning to support.
