In an attempt to push President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, Sens. Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren have once again taken to the stage in an online video. The duo stood outside the Capitol in a video posted online to talk about Biden’s proposal to waive accrued and capitalized interest for over 30 million borrowers for a price tag of $57.75 billion. Schumer emphasized that the plan would benefit a wide range of people, particularly those of color who may have been taken advantage of by for-profit colleges.

Warren chimed in, highlighting that the plan would also aid those who didn’t complete their degrees due to life circumstances. Evidently, she knows a thing or two about old times when she attended college when the tuition was a measly $50 a semester.
Unsurprisingly, the video garnered mixed responses from the public. One user slammed the pair for their supposed elitism, claiming that their support for Biden’s plan is just another form of socialism that’s crippling the middle and lower class. Another user expressed concern over the growing national debt and the potential consequences of such sweeping forgiveness.
And while the senators were busy celebrating, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey wasn’t having any of it. He promptly filed a lawsuit against Biden and the Department of Education, following the Supreme Court’s rejection of a previous student loan forgiveness plan.
It seems like Biden and his Democratic buddies are in for a rough ride with their grand plans. But hey, at least they make for good entertainment in the meantime!
