The left has spent years twisting the principles of due process and immigration law to blur the line between legal and illegal, all while sacrificing our nation’s sovereignty on the altar of political correctness. Our nation has laws that are supposed to mean something. What part of “illegal” is hard to understand when it comes to immigration status? If you’re here unlawfully, guess what – you don’t have a right to stay. It’s as simple as that.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio made it crystal clear this weekend that despite liberal cries for compassion, the Trump administration remains steadfast in enforcing immigration laws. How often have we heard the left scream about rights while ignoring the fact that those who cross the border illegally have already flouted our laws? America welcomes millions legally. But there’s zero entitlement for those trying to jump the line.

On “Meet the Press,” there was outrage over a case involving a two-year-old American-born child, but let’s cut through the hysteria. Immigration laws don’t discriminate. They act on status, not sob stories. A mother, here illegally, was deported with her child—hardly an unusual occurrence and entirely within the bounds of our laws. A federal judge may holler about lack of process, but let’s remember that the mother decided her child should be with her. Isn’t family unity supposed to be a liberal value?
Meanwhile, this judge’s alleged suspicion surrounding the deportation of a U.S. citizen with no process smacks of judicial activism. The left loves to have it both ways—legal loopholes for their allies, and moral outrage for everyone else. Sensible Americans know the importance of a legal system that doesn’t buckle under emotions.
While progressives argue for open borders and endless rights for all who cross our frontier, a hard truth remains: a nation without borders isn’t a nation. This administration is fighting to keep America safe and sovereign. If that means enforcing the law as it stands, then so be it. Are we a nation of laws, or one of unfettered chaos controlled by whoever screams the loudest?
