Secret Service Under Fire for Security Failures in Trump Assassination Attempt

The Secret Service is facing intense criticism following the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Many are outraged by the security lapses that allowed the shooter to get dangerously close to the former president. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, appointed by Joe Biden, has come under fire for her handling of the situation and her refusal to resign.

In an ABC News interview, Cheatle admitted that the assassination attempt should never have occurred and claimed responsibility as the head of the Secret Service. Despite calls for her resignation, Cheatle defiantly announced her intention to stay in her position.

New revelations from Channel 11 News in Pittsburgh have exposed even more shocking details about the events leading up to the assassination attempt. Law enforcement had spotted the shooter, Thomas Crooks, on a roof half an hour before he fired at Trump. Despite multiple warnings and sightings, the Secret Service failed to prevent the attack.

The Associated Press reported that a local police officer came face to face with Crooks on the roof, where Crooks aimed his rifle at the officer before ultimately being shot by a Secret Service sniper. The entire incident revealed a glaring failure in security protocols.

Cheatle’s attempts to deflect blame and make excuses for the Secret Service’s failures only serve to highlight the incompetence at the highest levels of the agency. Conservative Americans are left wondering just how much worse the situation will become under her leadership.
