What on earth is Senator Thom Tillis thinking by playing political games with Ed Martin’s confirmation as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia? At a time when President Trump needs his team rock solid and firing on all cylinders, Tillis is jeopardizing it all. With a narrow GOP majority, we can’t afford to let a MAGA-hating judge step in and make such a critical appointment. The stakes are too high.
Think about it: Martin’s confirmation is crucial for pushing Trump’s bold agenda forward. Tillis seems to forget that Judge James Boasberg, a known Trump antagonist, would be the one to choose Martin’s replacement if the Senate GOP doesn’t act fast. It feels like an open invitation to more unfounded lawfare and pitiful political theater against the president. The left is always ready to pull their anti-American stunts, and now is not the time for a Republican to drop the ball.

This isn’t Tillis’s first rodeo of standing against Trump nominees. He did something similar with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Back then, conservative voices warned Tillis about his waffling—messages that seem to have fallen on deaf ears. Is he trying to secure his re-election by appeasing anti-Trump elements? If so, he clearly underestimates the strong Trump support in his own state of North Carolina.
Other dedicated conservatives see through Tillis’s antics. Mike Lee and Charlie Kirk, both solid patriots, have rightfully sounded the alarm about the consequences of Tillis’s foot-dragging. Their clear-eyed warnings should serve as a wake-up call to every Republican who claims to stand with President Trump. There’s no room for showboating when the principles we hold dear are under siege.
Tillis needs to align with the president and confirm Ed Martin. Senators should focus on supporting Trump’s vision to restore America’s greatness. The left’s anti-Trump judges can hardly wait to stifle progress, so why give them a golden opportunity? The ball’s in your court, Senator Tillis. Will you side with America-first policies, or let radical leftists dictate the narrative once again?
