Well well well, folks, buckle up for a wild ride because we’ve got a sneaky gas swiper on the loose in good ol’ Lincoln, Nebraska! Meet Dawn Thompson, who thought she could pull a fast one on the good people at Pump and Pantry and snag over $27,000 worth of gas for free. Sounds like a sweet deal, right? Wrong!
It turns out that this crafty thief allegedly took advantage of a glitch in the fuel pumps’ software after a handy-dandy update back in November 2022. By swiping her rewards card not once, but twice, she unlocked a magical “demo mode” that let her fill up her tank without spending a penny! Now, that’s what I call a conservative’s worst nightmare – someone getting something for nothing!

But hold on to your hats, because Thompson didn’t stop there. Oh no, she allegedly went on a gas-guzzling spree, using her rewards card a whopping 510 times between November 2022 and June 2023. And get this – she even roped in a partner in crime to share the ill-gotten gains, charging her pal a pretty penny for “free” gas. Talk about audacity!
Thankfully, the long arm of the law caught up with Thompson, and she was hauled in by the police faster than you can say “fill ‘er up”. The loss prevention managers at Bosselman Enterprise were quick to sniff out her shenanigans, and surveillance footage allegedly nailed her red-handed. Let this be a lesson to all you would-be gas bandits out there – crime doesn’t pay, especially at the pump!
So, kudos to the authorities for putting a stop to Thompson’s alleged gas-guzzling escapades. It just goes to show that in this great country of ours, cheaters never prosper – unless you count filling up your tank on the house as a victory. But hey, at least justice was served, and the good folks at Pump and Pantry can rest easy knowing that their pumps are safe from any more freeloading fuel fanatics. Gotta love a happy ending, am I right, fellow conservatives?
