Wade’s connection with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has also come under scrutiny, leading to suspicions that their undisclosed relationship may have compromised the election interference case against Trump. Many are questioning the wisdom of Willis entrusting the prosecution of such a high-profile case to Wade, especially in light of his alleged lack of experience in such matters.
Recent court filings obtained by the Washington Examiner provided damning evidence that Wade deliberately neglected to disclose crucial information pertaining to his earnings, including the substantial fees he reportedly received for prosecuting the Trump case. The documents revealed that Wade allegedly pocketed a staggering $654,000 in legal fees from Fulton County, raising serious ethical concerns about his conduct in handling the case.
In a startling revelation, on May 10, 2023, Judge Henry R. Thompson, presiding over a divorce case, determined that Wade wilfully disregarded his wife’s requests for financial documents, including income statements dating back to 2016. Despite the judge’s orders, Wade continued to defy the directives, prompting Thompson to take decisive action against the defiant prosecutor.
On Aug. 17, as the momentous racketeering indictment was announced against Trump and 18 other co-defendants, Judge Thompson unequivocally declared Wade in “willful contempt” for his blatant refusal to comply with the court’s demands. This latest development underscores the gravity of the situation, revealing Wade’s apparent disdain for the legal process and his failure to fulfill his obligations as a prosecutor.
In a scathing rebuke, Judge Thompson chastised Wade for his obstinate refusal to cooperate and warned that he would only comply under duress of a court order.
