His program, losing between $40 million and $50 million annually, wasn’t shut down because of a lack of talent—it’s because he’s driven away American viewers who crave genuine humor, not political diatribes.
As CBS pulls the plug on his floundering show, Colbert’s final act was to fling mud at Trump with a juvenile retort. This is the same guy who spent nearly a decade pretending to be a comedian while masquerading as a political resister. Unsurprisingly, it’s not satire or wit keeping him busy—it’s his unending quest to bash Trump. Instead of providing entertainment, Colbert descended into a desperate tirade against a President whose popularity with everyday Americans eclipses his ratings.
Colbert couldn’t even muster a good-bye without somehow dragging Trump’s name through the mud alongside that of disgraced figures like Jeffrey Epstein. This is what one might expect from a man who called his Broadway-style praise for the COVID shot his crowning achievement—dancing hypodermic needles and all. Comparing “The Vax-Scene” against Greg Gutfeld’s raw, authentic comedic empire, it’s clear why one is thriving and the other is folding. People want laughs, not lectures.
Liberal corporate media continues to greenlight this nonsense at their peril, validating anti-American obsessions with opposition rather than celebrating this great country. Colbert may have exhausted his platform, but America’s thirst for truth and liberty is endless. As we bid goodbye to Colbert’s unimaginative, failed comedic career, it’s vital to appreciate the resilience of American voices that resist his narrative.
The real question is, after all this chaos, will the left finally accept that Americans are fed up with their constant ridicule of conservatives and start valuing real entertainment over their agenda?
