The Supreme Court just dealt a blow to America-first trade policy with its latest 6-3 ruling against the Trump administration’s use of tariffs under the so-called International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Once again, liberal justices joined forces with their globalist allies on the right—Roberts, Gorsuch, and Barrett—to tie the hands of the president and weaken this nation’s negotiating power. Apparently, the elite class would rather see America’s industries gutted than let a Republican president defend our borders and economy.
The left-wing critics have been whining for years that tariffs are just “taxes” and claim only Congress should decide on them. That’s exactly the argument the Supreme Court bought into, ignoring how tariffs serve as a shield for our workers and a bargaining chip in a world of cutthroat trade deals. Ironically, when Democrats run the show and trample over executive boundaries for their pet causes, their media buddies call it “bold leadership.” But let a conservative president use every tool available to protect American jobs—suddenly, it’s a constitutional crisis.

Some so-called Republicans are just as bad. They are ready to backstab their own president over tariffs, partnering with Democrats to condemn policies that actually make America competitive again. These spineless politicians seem more worried about upsetting their cocktail party friends than standing up for families crushed by unfair competition from China and other global predators. President Trump is absolutely right to warn these turncoats that voters are watching—and they will remember this double-cross at the polls.
But here’s what the left and the weak-kneed establishment don’t get. The fight isn’t over. Legal scholars make it clear: the administration still has plenty of ways to put tariffs in place. Congress didn’t write a blank check to foreign interests—and the White House isn’t about to give up on putting America first. The defense of our economy, our steel, our farmers, and our future doesn’t get canceled by a single opinion from Washington’s out-of-touch elitists.
If defending American workers, standing up for real jobs, and fighting for our sovereignty makes the liberal establishment nervous—good. Maybe it’s time for them to worry. Are they really so desperate to please the global crowd that they’ll leave this country defenseless? The answer is obvious. The real emergency here isn’t presidential power—it’s the open contempt these coastal elites have for middle America. When will they learn: American strength is not up for negotiation.
