In Afghanistan, another brick in the wall of incompetence crumbles under the weight of tragedy. An earthquake has devastated villages, leaving chaos and despair in its wake. Under Taliban rule, this catastrophe is a dark reflection of their false promises. They strutted into Kabul, boasting they’d bring stability and independence. But when the ground shakes, it becomes clear they are better at destruction than building anything of real value.
The Taliban once blasted the West, rejected our aid, and declared their sovereignty. Now, amidst the rubble, they hold out their hands like beggars. Their previous actions, marked by violence against aid workers, now echo with irony as they plead for the world to intervene. This is the true face of their self-sufficiency – ineffective, hollow, and utterly dependent on the very global community they scorn.
Donors who turned their backs on Afghanistan in recent years must come back as the earthquake has devastated eastern Afghanistan:

Afghanistan’s dire state predates this earthquake. Hunger, collapsing healthcare, and a choked economy are the norm under their oppressive regime. Nature has only highlighted their inability to deliver even basic services, revealing a government that crumbles under pressure.
Meanwhile, the world will respond with aid. Western nations, driven by compassion, will help—not because the Taliban is worthy, but because human life demands our mercy. Western generosity will arrive first, underscoring the contrasting values of the free world and tyrannical rule. The tragic irony is undeniable: for all their anti-Western posturing, it is the West that delivers relief.
The real lesson here is that prayers and guns do not build infrastructure or save lives in times of crisis. It’s freedom and generosity that shine through. Despite the Taliban’s failures, people will be helped by the West’s compassion. But as aid flows in, one must question, what has really changed? The earthquake laid bare not just flattened homes but the shattered illusion of the Taliban’s promises.
